• On 25 November 2014 in Brussels a meeting of the EducationYouthCulture and Sport Council of the European Union was held. The main point of the meeting was the adoption of the Council conclusions on sport as a driver for innovation and economic growth. Poland was represented by Mr. Bogusław Ulijasz, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

  • Social inclusion through sport and Financial Fair Play (FFP) were the subjects of the informal meeting of EU Ministers for Sport, held in Rome. The Polish delegation presented national examples of the use of sport for strengthening social cohesion, and emphasised FFP’s key role in promoting the integrity of sports competitions.

  • 94th session of the OECD Tourism Committee was held on 1 – 2 October 2014 at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting was attended by ninety delegates representing 39 member states and invited non-member countries. It was the first time, Poland has hosted the OECD Tourism Committee session. The meeting was officially opened by Mr. Andrzej Biernat, the Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland.

  • Swedish city of Gothenburg is the winner of the Access City Award 2014 for its outstanding work towards increasing accessibility for disabled people and the elderly. The 2014 Award was organized by the European Commission together with the European Disability Forum and was presented in Brussels on 3rd December 2013 during the event ''Accessible Tourism in Europe'' on the occasion of the annual European Day of People with Disabilities and the European Tourism Day.
